Insect morphology

Insect pests are the main group , because insects are the largest group in the animal kingdom ( + 2/3 animal species are insects known . Insects have high adaptability , insects can multiply rapidly , insects can become resistant to insecticides . Insects including poikilotermik animals ( body temperature can change with environmental temperature changes so that more efficient use of energy ( Martoredjo , 1984)
Insecta often referred to insects or heksapoda . Heksapoda derived from the word hexa means six (6 ) feet and said podos means . Heksapoda mean six-legged animals . Insecta estimated number of more than 900,000 species that are divided into 25 orders . This shows that a lot of variety in the class Insecta both the shape and the nature and habits .
Insecta characteristics , among others :
Body can be distinguished clearly between the head , chest and abdomen .
a. One facet pairs of eyes ( plural ) , single eye ( ocellus ) , and one pair of antennas as a tentacle .
b . Tool based on the function of insect mouth and eating can be distinguished are:
1 . Mandibulata ( tool - chewing biting mouth ) Example : Order Orthoptera consists of : Labrum , mandibel ( to cut , chew , maxillary ( to soften the food ) , labium ( helps hold the food )
  • Haustelata ( piercing - sucking mouth tool , merautmenghisap )
  • Piercing - sucking , ie of the order Hemiptera Consisting of labrum ( lobe ) , rostrum ( labium ) , and stylet ( modification of mandibel and maxillary )
  • whittle - sucking , example : Thrips ; Equipment abnormal mouth ( only 1 stylet mandibel growing ) Consists of 1 stylet mandibel left , 2 maxillary stylet , labrum , rostrum .
  • Equipment specific type mouth ( oral appliance mengkait suck ) , example : Bactrocera dorsalis , larvae of the order Diptera ( flies , mosquitoes ) . Consisting of : mouth hooks and latches mover muscle oral ( mouth tool for studying the importance of relating to damage caused to the crop )
  • This section consists of the mouth behind the jaw ( mandible ) , the jaw ( maxilla ) , and the upper lip ( labrum ) and lower lip ( labium )
  • Chest ( thorax ) consists of three segments ie prothorax , mesothorax and metathorax . Segment there is a pair on foot .
  • Stomach ( abdominal ) has eleven ( 11 ) sections or a few segments only. In the female mantis , rear abdomen that functions contained ovipositor to lay her eggs . In the first segment there is a hearing aid or tympanum membrane .
  • Tool digestion consists of : mouth , esophagus , crop , stomach , colon , rectum and anus .
  • Nervous system rope ladder .
  • The respiratory system with tracheal system .
  • The circulatory system is open .
  • separate genitals ( male and female ) , internal fertilization .
  • Place to live in freshwater and terrestrial .
  • Most insects undergo metamorphosis ( metamorphosis ) from egg to adult .
